The Western Grove Fire Department responded to a fire call on the Western Grove School Campus about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, according to a city official. The official blamed arsonists for the fire that destroyed the remains of the old gymnasium. Construction workers Monday started tearing down the old gym (right), which had been built in the mid-1920s, to make room for new classrooms.
